Vienna calling
A small Vienna bucket list.
Living abroad has become an almost commonplace experience to me these past few years, thanks to youth exchange, evs and studying abroad. I like to think I’m well aquainted with my own cultural background. This living abroad experience I’m embarking on just now however might just make the intricate specifics of my cultural heritage clearer than any other.
I’m spending two months in the heart of Europe, in the strange neighbour of my home country that I know everything and nothing about: Austria.
Already these past three days have brought some small culture shocks: smoking is allowed everywhere, familiar shops have different names and the language… Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating. Maybe that’s a part of my heritage, too. Anyway, be that as it may, I’m here (I’m queer) and I’m excited to make the most of my summer in Vienna. These things are on my bucket list so far:
- test out as many breakfast spots as possible
- meet some nice international and viennesse people
- go swimming in the danube
- take advantage of vienna’s cultural offerings
- write as much as possible (both blogging and otherwise)
Short but sweet and to be expanded I think. As such, any tips on must-see’s or must-do’s would be appreciated!
