The frozen feet of city hoppers
Traveling to different cities and giving up on Ostrava's weather
Oh guys, GUYS. Long time no see, eh? So much happened, like SO much.
After Beyond the Veil we got into our routine again, worked at the school, worked in the office, we were helping with the aftermath of youth exchanges and the training course, so far everything was normal. We had a funny intervention to help with another training course related to coaching where we felt a little bit like lab rats, but it was okay. Actually, it was really hilarious!
Linn, Joana and I decided to go to Dresden shortly after (our first time there), so I could show them what Christmas markets are really about. Going home for Christmas was a blast as well, although I decided to boil my leg with some hot coffee I drank with a friend - but coming home then felt amazing. I like Czech Republic, I like the way this EVS has been changing me so far, I like my flatmate and I like the trips we go on, but after a couple of months, being home is all I wanted for some days.
The next year started with a new experience right away. For the first time in over ten years I went to Poland again, all the six of us to be precise. We were thrilled by Cracow's beautiful streets and buildings, the nicest café we've ever been to and the vibrant nightlife. Coming back to Ostrava and starting our routine the next Monday felt a little weird after those exciting days, but I did appreciate it.
Last weekend Linn, Joana and I decided not to be bothered by the weather and go on a trip to Vienna, which is only 2.5 h away from Ostrava. Well, or so we thought. It was around -10°C, so although we saw the city and the beautiful architecture, every 30 - 60min we had to get inside a café and warm up. Yes, I get it. Lesson learnt.
Right now Ostrava is even colder, the minimum temperature for tomorrow is supposed to be -18°C and I can tell you, I was never as cold in my entire life. Everyone is waiting for spring to come along and feel the sun kissing our skin again.
Let's hope it's gonna be soon!
P.S.: A work update of what we prepared and what's coming up next is gonna be here soon as well!
