Tere Tulemast
My first days in Estonia
I'm in Estonia for 7 days now and I already experienced a lot.
On Thursday (01.10.) I flew from Berlin to Estonia's capital Tallinn (the plane was half-empty, therefor I had much space :D). At the airport I met Klara, the other volunteer from Germany, who is also doing her EVS in Narva. Then we drove with the bus to Narva. On the ride I could get some impression of the country and the cities. From the outside many houses look old and shabby, but this really does not count for the status inside. The nature is just as you imagine: many trees. ( but i like that! :D) After 2,5 hours we arrived in Narva which is a relatively big city with ca 62.000 inhabitants. The houses here are also run down, but really okay from the inside. Maybe at first sight it might look old, but you cannot expect that the whole world looks like Germany. The most important thing is our flat, and this is definitely okay (even though we spend the whole Saturday on cleaning).
On Friday morning I visited my workplace, the youth centre "VitaTiim", for the first time. Everybody is so warmhearted and friendly, I felt comfortable immediately. In the afternoon all volunteers met and we got to know eachother: Me, Klara (from Germany, my flatmate), Luka (from Slovenia, my other flatmate), Daniele (from Italy), Fruzsina (from Hungary) and soon Teresa (from Italy) and Miguel (from Portugal).
On Sunday we went out for a walk through the city and I took the camera with me.
I will write you again soon,
Evi
P.S.: Tere Tulemast means welcome in Estonian. And I guess now, after the few days, I really feel arrived in Estonia.
