Postcard from Hamburg!
A one-day trip to this amazing city, walking through Christmas markets, meeting friends and discovering new places.
Last Saturday my roomy Saule and I cought our Flixbus heading to Hamburg. We were so excited to leave the flat life in our village and breathe the big city life, even though for just one day. What was cheering us up mostly was to have our reunion with other two Spanish volunteers who we met during our seminar in Hannover. Speaking for me, these girls are absolutely top. Have you ever met someone who can understand you since the first minute you start talking with each other? If so, you can feel me.
Well, let's come back to our Hamburg trip. We managed to walk along Saint Pauli, an alternative and eccentric quarter area where the famous fish market takes place on Sunday morning. Even though it was freaking cold, we enjoyed this spot and all the lights flashing along the popular Repeerbahn. I did love Christmas markets as well, even though they were so owercrowded as it is usual during the weekend! The Christmas lights always took my heart, they made me feel both nostalgic and full of hope at the same time.
This trip to Hamburg was special to me also because I managed to meet Kristina, my friend born and bread in this city. She used to be an Erasmus student in my home university and during my Erasmus in Bremen, we had the chance to have our own reunion in Hamburg. I still remember the first time we met here: I was fully in tears, because we started remembering our time together in Trento. She is still my favourite drinking mate. We used to spend our summertime sitting at the fountain of the dom square or eating ice-cream. I still save great memories of her farewell-party: Trento had never seen a massive party like that one!
Now I am back to my "village-life", to my volunteering project. But I am full of energy and super positive thanks to the vibes got in Hamburg.
