Our daily Work
A description of our daily work.
Daily Work means usual things that happen every week repeading in the same ours.
As we create our schedules on our own we choose out of this different opportunitys and combinate it with the unusual events to get our weekly schedules. You can see one of my normal weekly schedules as a picture attached to this article.
1.Open House (Spotti/ Silta)
This is the classical youth center part of the hyvinkää youth services.
Usually these places are open monday to saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
During our EVS the Location changed slightly.
At the beginning the Open House Evening used to be split into two parts.
The first Part in “Spotti” from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and the second part from 6:00 pm to 20:30 pm in Silta.
The Changes
After 3 weeks in Hyvinkää we changed the location of Spotti in the shopping mall and switched the open evenings to the new spotti.
In this youth center we have different options for the youngsters, they can play pool table tennis or table football/soccer, listen to music, play board games or play console games on one of our 2 playstation 4s. We offer coffee and flavored water.
2.Gamehouse
The Game House is a youth activity that happens on mondays and tuesdays from 4:00 pm till 8:30 pm.
Its focused on gaming on Computer and Console and Card or Board Games.
On Mondays there is a club for Tabletop Wargaming as well.
On the Computers basically everything can be played as they are connected to steam.
The consoles we offer are ps4 and wii u (both with lots of games).
A few of the youngsters participating here are part of the planning team for the “Hypecon” event.
3.Rainbow Club
The Rainbow club is a club where youngsters are able to dicuss about sexuality and gender issues they encounter during their daily lives.
This club creates an environment in which youngsters can feel safe to express their personal concerns regarding their sexual orientation or gender identification.
Youngsters that want to get informed about sexual orientations or gender related topics are also welcome to join.
We specifically use methods to help them reflect themselves on ethical, sexual or gender-related questions.
This club is aimed to promote self esteem and self reflection abilities of the youngsters.
4.Manga Club
A Club dedicated to Manga and Cosplay.
The Youngsters and leaders play games and exchange new information about manga books or series. This Club is also part of the planning team for the “Hypecon” Event.
“It is a fair dedicated to gaming and cosplay in Hyvinkää.
All of this is planned by Youngsters and supported by Youth Workers.

5.Jugger Club
A small club, in which we give the youngsters the opportunity to fight with soft swords and build these on their own. It's an upcoming sport, with lots of rules.

6.School Work
School work always differents on the school and the worker ( usually every worker has a school that he/she usually visits.
But usually a worker visit the school during breaks to play games and talk with the youngsters. We provide lots of opportunities to play a big variety of games different from the school owned equipment.
7.Youth Exchange Club
During our EVS we planned a youth exchange.
In this club the youngsters involved in the planning met every week.
We talked about topics and issues they encounter during their everyday lives for example forms of racism.
We informed them about how european institutions work and planned practical options for a youth exchange with them.
8. Skateboard Club
The Skateboard Club was a club to create a Street Art Skating Action Movie with Youngsters.

Some of the here discribed clubs are already finnished or/and got replaced by others, because Youth Work has to be felexible and has to react to changing Interest.
