Italien entdecken: Tag 7
This day kids have discovered the taste of a simple Italian snack: Bruschetta!
Here I am once again to tell you about my project with kids about the discover of my homeland. This time I wanted to delight them with a simple snack typical during summer days in Italy: bruschetta!
What is Bruschetta? It is easy to be told: baked slices of bread with tomatoes pieces upon. Very healthy but also with a super taste! Making Bruschetta is not complicated all and I was happy that kids managed to help me along the process. First, we put bread in the oven and let it bake for approximately 15-20 minutes. In the mean time, we took 5-6 big tomatoes and cut them in small pieces (no need of being precise of cutting) and put them into a bowl. We mixed them with olives oil and salt. I usually add also garlic and olives, but kids do not like strong tastes, so I passed this time.
Once having all the necessary ingredients, each of us too a piece of bread and add on top tomatoes. The result was a very delicious snack for a very summer afternoon in Germany! My kids told me that they would happy to remake bruschetta at home, because they did enjoy them. I am very enthusiastic about having shown them another piece of my country and I do hope that when they will prepare bruschetta, they will remember the first time they tried it.
