Family

Looking back at my weekend there have been many good moments throughout the days: Strolling along Prince Street without a worry, enjoying Calton Hill in all its beauty, cooking with my roommates and watching a stupid movie afterwards while drinking Australian Rum... The list goes on. But by far the best moment was Saturday night, dancing with a few people who had come over for a small party, when Dan turned to me, hugged me tightly and announced “If you like it or not. You are now a part of this family, babez!”

Today I had my first day at Niddrie Farm Grove and was able to get to know the people working alongside me and get familiar with the tasks I will be assigned to at the project. Everybody is extremely nice and welcoming, so I look forward to spending my next 11 month with the people from SHARE Scotland.

I know it has only been a few days since I arrived in Edinburgh but I feel at home already and everything that I have been worrying about is finally falling into place. And even if there are moments where I am feeling down or homesick there is always someone around to lift me up. Be it a 1 ½ hour Skype call with my best friend or my neighbour inviting us over for dinner, I know I am never alone, because I have a Family that is growing everyday!
