The quarantine made me a blogger. I do not believe.
In my fantasy everything looked different. Probably this is the first time in my life when all my plans have failed in one moment. Everything and immediately. Plans, tickets, expectations, anticipation of new events, adventures, meetings. The borders are closed and the escape routes too. But I decided to stay in Hungary and not leave the ESC project. I’m going to go through this challenge together with the ESC community.
Well, there was skepticism in the beginning. We didn’t want to believe in the seriousness of the situation. We had hopes that it would end soon. We still hope and we KNOW it will be over, but we should be stronger and more patient than we expected.
The 21st of February. I was flying to Milan in anticipation of a long-awaited event. I didn’t know how this world would change after that weekend. In those days a broken washing machine, lost items and a fine of 39 euros seemed like a real tragedy. The square in front of the Milan Cathedral was crowded, and the bars in the Navigli area were full of people. It was time for aperitivo and people were joking about the coronavirus.
But it happened. What should we do in this situation?
✅ Don't panic
✅ Follow the rules and instructions
✅Try to take advantage of this situation (just remember how often in the past you complained about the lack of free time)
This situation also confirms that people still need people. Yes, we became cynical and went to the world of social media. But in critical circumstances people began to look for support from each other again. Has anyone already talked to people with whom contact was lost? I have.
Maybe it's time to reboot? Maybe this time came to expose our human nature? (by the way I think we are better than we used to think ). I think that in this situation we should try to be more tolerant than ever. Understand those who panic, those who buy kilometers of toilet paper, those who deny the seriousness of the situation (perhaps this is one way of psychological protection). I don't think this is a time for judging, I think this is a time for supporting. And take care of yourself, please!
