A very expensive cinema visit
I got taken advantage of in the cinema of Ostrava and lost 1000kč
This was not the greatest experience I had...but let me start at the beginning.
So, this Saturday Joana, Linn, Barbora (a very nice girl that I met in Havířov with Veronika when we went there, I'll talk more about her in the future ;) ) and I wanted to see "Home again" a drama/romcom kinda movie. We all went to Karolina, had a nice cup of *blank* at Starbucks (I had the hibiscus tea) and then went on to the movies. Barča is a little bit of a dork (her words!), though, so when we ended up in the cinema too late for home again - but lucky us, we had the opportunity to go to IT! Only problem: It started 10 minutes ago. I had to go to the toilet very badly so I handed over my purse to the others and went there. Coming back I met them and we went to the movie all together, not really knowing what we were about to witness.
See, I'm usually not afraid of things. But this movie, man. After about one half of it I couldn't do it any longer and asked Linn if I might hold her hand while watching, and she said yes, a little bit relieved. To this very moment I'm surprised that nobody's hand got cracked or broken.
On the next day as I did my expenses, I notived 1000 crowns missing (1000kč is about 40€). That couldn't be right, not at all. My anger came up pretty quickly, thus Joana and I went to the cinema again to solve the situation. Oh no, they're very sorry. They have cameras, but they send it all to Prague at the end of the day and delete the footage. Oh no, they can't let us talk to the manager. The manager says we have to contact the people in Prague. Not speaking Czech, we had no idea what they were talking about, there was a very strong feeling of being taken advantage of, I'm telling you! And of course, oh no, they can't give us a proper phone number, email or ANYTHING personalized. Just a stupid card of the cinema with an email address that is on their official site as well.
Maybe I'll see my money again. Maybe not. I'll try to get it, but this seems to be pretty much unsolvable by now. So, I guess I just have to learn to do everything myself and always double check all the time, no matter if I'm late to anything or my bladder is about to explode. After all, it's just money - but it still sucks.
All of this lead me to clean and tidy up my room meticulously, so I guess it had one positive effect, right?
