A coincidence on the Camino
After my Erasmus I made a a 2 months Eurotrip on the way home and I share my most impressive stories in a nutshell.
I spent my Erasmus in Spain, in Valencia. After that I had a crazy idea to travel around Europe on the way home to Hungary. That’s how I started my 2 months adventure. First I climbed the highest mountain is Spain, the Mulhacen with a friend and travelled around Malaga, Granada, Ronda, Algeciras and Gibraltar. After a beautiful night of the midsummer night we sad goodbye and I went to Cordoba to meet my travelmate, a Hungarian guy who spent his Erasmus in Valencia too. But the day before I had time to stay on the beach with some friends next to Malaga. That day I revalued my life after the big waves catched me and I almost ended my way there. So from Cordoba we went together to Sevilla and we planned our trip together till French. We just visited Lisboa and Porto and he became more and more selfish and when we wanted to hitchhike from Porto to Santiago de Compostela he sad he goes by bus and we’ll meet in Santiago where was his idea to go. In that night I got stucked in a little village on the border, in Caminha and I spent the night next to the ocean in my hamac in a windstorm. The next day I headed to Santiago but the drivers only took me for some kilometer because they thought I am a pilgrim and that’s how I arrived to the El Camino without noticing it. I heard about the pilgrimate but I dind’t know where is it exactly. On that hot day I was walking and hitchhiking a lot and I saw yellow arrows everywhere but I didn’t know what are these for. And when I arrived to the city I understanded everything. I asked my travelmate where is he and he just sent me a message about he is going to Bilbao by bus. So he just left without saying goodbye and took my sleeping bag and my hamac with himself. I should had been in panic but as I arrived to Santiago I felt: well, I have no idea where I am and what I’m doing on the El Camino but let’s go with the flow. I bought some food and as I was sitting in the park I saw a very interesting group of people between the arriving tourists. One guy with an ukulele and two Chinese girls. I thought it would be nice to know them. 20minutes later I met them again when I was searching for the Chatedral. The girls left and we went to the center with the portugeese boy. We made friends and I planned to go ahead to the coast but he convinced me to stay for the night and celebrate the end of the Camino. So that’s how I found love on the way. Life always takes and gives in the same time. My travelmate just let me down when I found a soulmate. What a coincidence. We felt like we know each other years ago and we could understand each other so well. We travelled 8 days on the coast and we went to Pamplona to the bull running. It was the best time on the eurotrip. In Bilbao we had to say goodbye and I went to San Sebastian where I slept in an alberge. The next day, who knows why, I spent 10 minutes with stearing the see before I leave Spain after a year and in that time two girls came. They saw me at night in the alberge and asked where am I going. I thought my answer will surprise them. I sad I’ll hitchhike throught France and I go to the German Alps to find my friends. Surprisingly their plan was the same so we decided to travel together. We hitchhiked 930 km in 12 hours. One girl left to the Alps to find her Father and I went with the other one to Geneve but in the last lift the car went wrong after 40 km. We had to call the rescue car so we arrived to a little village in a car what travelled on the rescue car. After 2 days in Geneve I visited Paris and Amsterdam where I visited my ex-neighbour from Valencia. I headed to Germany to Göttingen, Hannover, Ravensburg, I climbed a mountain in Austria and after I spent the night in a hippie camp in Hungary, I arrived home. I travelled 2 mounts, 9000km by hitchinking and crossed 11 borders. Up to now it was my longest and most adventuorus trip where I met death, got let down but afterward I found the meaning of it all. That was love what we have to live for.
