2nd month in Malta
First rain in Malta for me :)
August was full of new places to see, hot weather (even hotter than July), rain (yes! rain, very little, but at least it was rain..), a new working environment and also some homelike moments with my best people from Germany.
My boyfriend and my sister came to visit me for a few days so I took some leaves. It was really nice to have people from my hometown here in Malta to show them around and discover new places with them. This month kind of felt like being on holiday since I enjoyed the work and I always kept myself busy after work.
The work in Ghajn Tuffiehe was mainly about patrolling and working in the nursery, collecting seeds and refilling pots. I also had to work on the field sometimes, removing acacia trees and covering the remainings with dark material so the tree weakens and it is easier to remove the plant after that completely.
On the 21st, right after my boyfriend left Malta to go back to Germany, it was my turn to go to Gozo for three weeks. He we work in a Ranger Station at Ramla Bay. The Station offers a fresh water shower for the people visiting the beach. It is also some kind of tourist information center. I really enjoy working at Ramla Bay, not only because the beach is beautiful but also because it is less crowded here than Malta. So it's calmer around the beach. In general Gozo is a very nice place. It is something totally different than Malta and I like its calm atmosphere.
After one week staying in Gozo my sister joined me here in Xaghra. We went to Xlendi which is one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset. We also went back to Malta for a few days since I wanted to show her some of the beautiful beaches there but also the Dingli Cliffs and the unique city Mdina.
Next week I am going back to Malta where I am really looking forward to the Bubble Festival :)
