Velkommen tilbake
- Welcome back to Norway –
Stepping out of the bus and being covered in rain wasn’t the friendliest greeting Norway could have thought of. In this moment I just wanted to go back and enjoy some more days in Germany, where I just came from. There the sun is still visible and the rain turned into snow – in contrast to Norway, or at least the west coast. I must admit that this weather and the constant darkness are getting on my nerves, even if I took a break from it in Germany. I am sorry if I destroyed your imagination of a winter wonderland around my place, but that is just not the case. Hopefully it starts to snow in Nordfjordeid soon, not just in the surrounding area. It would be really nice to have some snowball fights with the others, to go sledding or skiing instead of drowning in the rain. We will see :D
Back home I passed a wonderful time together with my family and friends and I wish I could have stayed longer (Thanks for the great time, love you all!!). Accordingly saying goodbye was really tough, actually tougher than the last time. Nevertheless I don’t regret it at all, it was so good to see everyone (and to eat German food, to go to German shops – where the prices seemed very cheap to me – and so on ;)
But it is not as if I didn’t want to come back at all (Moreover it was easier this time because I immediately switched into the Norwegian mode after hearing the first foreign words – that way I didn’t miss a bus change like the first time). There is still a lot to do and to discover. My blog might sound a bit bad-tempered today, which is probably coming from the eight hours night bus journey without any sleep. What I want to say is that I still enjoy being in Norway and doing my EVS, but there are just good and bad days. Life as we know it ;)
Right now I just focus on what is coming next and I really hope we don’t have too many events on weekends in the near future, so that we can visit other volunteers and travel around. Then the mid-term training is coming in February, the school musical as well, and moreover I really look forward to the midsummer nights and the famous rock festival in July. And as far as I know the community of Eid a lot more will take place in between, so it won’t get boring here. I will report it to you then ;)
Ha det bra!
