Team positive is reunited! <3
After we had planned it for three months, we finally managed to meet with my two girls in Maribor and spent a wonderful weekend together :) You two make my EVS experience even better :)
So on Friday, after having lunch together in the office and starting to plan my German evening in october, I took the train to go to Maribor. Even if the train was on delay (I already got used to this fact, somehow it makes me feel at home ;)), I managed to catch up the train so the two of us could go together :) And we even had a nice Slovene girls to talk to, so the journey went by really quick :) After I already slept there three times, I could easily walk my friend to the appartement, arm in arm under the umbrella because of the heavy rain ;). It was nice that the three of us finally met together, so the evening went by with drinking tea and exchanging the news :) When we prepared our place to sleep later at night, it totally reminded me of the time when I was having sleepovers at home nearly every weekend ;)
On Saturday, we really enjoyed the possibility to sleep long and then had a really great breakfast with eggs, homemade banana jam and cereals :) Being dressed up to explore the city, we first took a really nice walk through Mestni Park, taking pictures and admiring the nice surroundings :) Walking more into the first center, our first stop was surely the tourist information to get some brochures(Hopefully, I am not the only one who likes to collect them :)) and I even found some really nice postcards (all about the memories :) ) . It was also the first time that we actually explored the inside of the red church, even if it was really my fifth visit to Maribor :) Thanks Raquel for motivating us to go inside ;) We went on with our tour checking out the cathedrale and then exploring one of the really nice courtyards :) There we found a box with a bench under it which contributed to a really nice video ;) This will be always be my memory of this weekend and our time in Slovenia, when all three of us will be already in their home countries again :(
Furthermore, we enjoyed the view of the city from the red bridge and a pedestrian made my favourite pictures of our times :) Moreover, we discovered the Lent area near Drava and also went into the museum about the oldest wine. There we also tested the throne getting a feeling of being the wine princess ;) Seeing the water tower then made me think back of my first time visiting Alexia and drinking coffee and talking with her in the sun there. It is unbelievable that already three months have passed since this moment :) On the way back, we discoverd some kind of "stage" and I really nice Slovene Lady took really cool pictures of us, explaining us how to pose and waving with her hand due to her missing ability of speaking English ;) After all this walking, we actually got quite tired and hungry, so we went to Panda to enjoy Yufka and Burger which was really delicious :)
Equipped with cookies and wine, we went back to her appartement her we met her new German flat mate, whose face was priceless when I started talking in German ;) We finally managed to exchange all the photos from the past month and literally burst out into laughing, checking our funny pictures from midterm :D It was a really wonderful evening, enjoying the cookies and the nice conversation and just being happy to be with your friends :) <3
On Sunday, we then went to Korska street after having a relaxing brekfast :) They closed the street this day for having a picknick outside and we immediately tried out the chairs on the street, making fun of the others staring at us :P Then it was already time to bring my friend to the train, but I am so happy we will together to Bled tomorrow :) I am already so looking foward!
When coming back, I met another Turkist volunteer with who I had a nice conversation and we also painted Lampignons together :) But then it was also time for me to say goodbye, but I know for sure, it was not my last time there :)
Thank you for this wonderful weekend my girls <3 next year in London ;)
