Service Civique: volunteering project which come from France

What?
The Civic Service allows you to engage, for a period of 6 to 12 months in a mission in favor of the community. You have the opportunity to participate on one project which last 1 year or on two projects which last 6 months. The subjects of projects are usually solidarity, environment, culture, education, health, sport, international development – human help, interventions in crisis and citizenship.
Who?
Service Civique is a voluntary programme in the service of the general interest open to 16-25 year olds, extended to 30 years to young people with disabilities. Accessible without qualification conditions, the Civic Service is carried out in France or abroad.
Where?
In Europe and there are also a lot of programs out of Europe like India and specially in french territories in Caraibe (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion) and in Africa in Mexico etc.
Conditions?
An allowance of 473.04 euros per month is paid directly to the volunteer by the State, regardless of the weekly duration of the mission. The host organization also pays the volunteer a benefit in kind or in cash in the amount of 107.58 euros, corresponding to the cost of food (provision of meals) or transport. This service can be paid in different ways (meal voucher, access to the canteen, reimbursement of expenses, etc.)
Young people who rend house or holder of a higher education grant under the 5th level or beyond benefit from an increase in compensation of 107.68 euros per month.
In total, depending on the situation, Service Civique volunteers receive between 580.62 euros and 688.30 euros per month.
The engagement of Service Civique gives the right to complete basic social protection directly supported by the french state. You benefit from health, maternity, invalidity and occupational accident risk coverage. In addition, all the quarters of Civic Service that you have completed are taken into account under retirement insurance.
