Rehearsal here, rehearsal there
- Busy week in the Opera -
During my first week back from the training I was quite busy because we rehearsed for the Opera every day, even on the weekend. That means around five hours and more from the afternoon till the evening.
I am working backstage with Artur and help changing the scene. It is not that much to do, on the whole only around 20 minutes between the acts, but when it is our turn it has to be perfect and move fast. During the acts we can watch the play, but until now I didn’t get the story. Hopefully I will know what ‘Hoffmanns Eventyr’ (German: Hoffmanns Erzählungen) are about till the end of the show in two weeks… ;)
During that time I am not going to write too much in my blog because I have stuff to do in the morning too like the Norwegian class, office work and so on. I just won’t have that much time and it will be more or less the same every day. Right now the focus is on the Opera and I am really pleased to be a part of it because it is kind of exciting. And they really need us, we are helping out everywhere. For example we laid the floor on the stage, fixed requisites and sewed a carpet…
In between all this Opera stuff we celebrated Almudenas farewell party and the arrival of us new volunteers in the office of Eid Frivilligsentral with traditional food from our countries and little presentations about ourselves. I made ‘Apfelstrudel’, even if it is more an Austrian dish, but the Norwegians liked it, so who cares :D
It was just too complicated to prepare ‘Sauerkraut’ or ‘Bratwurst’ because you cannot buy it in Norway, or to put in another way, the products you get from the shops are not edible… ;)
On the whole it was a really nice evening, even if the occasion was sad. I am going to miss Almudena a lot, but she is not leaving until next weekend, so we have some time left :)
Greetings,
Alisa
PS: A special thanks goes to my family to-be for the amazing survival package and the presents. It was a really nice surprise! <3
