Reflections on the power of the pandemic

We live in a world made of an enormous net of relationships: the Earth ecosystem would not simply exists if all the elements that is consisted of were not in some kind of dependence one another; on the other hand, the single pieces wouldn't express their own characteristics if the whole scenario was not creating the abundant features in which thrive. 

Reality is deeply based on the nature of Interbeing. Sometimes it is not clear where to perceive the end of something and the start of something else.[1] This is, in my opinion, the feeling that deserves our biggest attention: understanding that "no man is an island" [2] leads to a research into the complexity of Life in its infinite demonstrations. By doing this, we understand that each of our single actions have consequences on different fields: social, environmental, economical and emotional. It is time to give importance to the small choices of our everyday routines in order to benefit the life of healthy communities and ecosystems.

Do we really need to protect ourselves at every cost from this "enemy", creating suffering in subtle and ubiquity ways in every aspect of our wellbeing? Is it a question of an incredible power of viral destruction or a message that comes from a wounded Nature that cannot hold us in the way we want to sustain ourselves? Do we have to blame blindly the Covid-19 epidemic or maybe take our responsibilities to have created the conditions for it to spread out and damage our sick bodies and souls? [3]

What I'm trying to say is not that we should all stop questioning, looking after our safety and being collaborative; this is a possibility to open up our views and look out on the crisis we are living in its totality: the world globalised-order is just not able to sustain itself anymore. [4]

It is not deniable, we are facing the biggest problems of our recent history: economic collapse, climate change, social injustice, environmental destruction, resources exploitation, health deficiency, unhappiness and loss in meaning. 

We are living the song of progress since too long: the road of an infinite growth (that on a finite planet is obviously not possible) has a constant detour, there, always on the side, waiting for us to enter it. There is no better opportunity than now. [5]

We find society at the tip of a process of unbelievable separation: face masks, social distances, politic and military interventions in daily life, restrictions on every aspect of freedom, crazy rules, cold and digital relationships… Coronavirus is nothing but a mirror, it is showing us the absurdity of our lifestyles and the loss of true values.

What is my perception of the present situation is an opportunity of initiation.[6] The call of a new way to create relationships, inside and outside ourselves, is stronger than ever: with the enormous potential of knowledge access and connection that technology allow us, we can bring our path in a direction of reunion, where we accept our true self, the diversity that makes our human culture so rich and the power to understand we can make solutions real.

This is why I came here. This is why I wake up in the morning and be Peace. This is why I take part of the ESC "Sustainable Synergies" here in Greece: seeding change through the "School of the Earth" they lead, growing our own food, building resilience in the community of the surrounding of Athens and nourishing the environment within my spirit.

I am walking my path supporting realities that are witnesses of an alternative world, bringing the gift of hope and feeling the true happiness of knowing it has a sense apart from what it will come out.[7]
