It´s carneval!
And as many countries, Denmark has ist own traditions, songs and food.
There is probably no better place to celebrate carneval than a kindergarden! Days before you make decorations, sing traditional songs and paint a ton. Slå katten af tønden ("hit the cat out of the barrel") is a famous tradition: in former times they put a living cat in a ton and had to hit it as many times as one needs to free the cat. Today you just have sweets in it and use it like a pinata.
Fastelavns boller is what one eats these days. It´s very sweet, with Pudding in it.
And you – for sure – sing many songs and come in costumes. There were Annas, Elsas and Olafs (of course), superheroes, cowboys, ... Alex went as a diver, Selina as a spring-feary and Laura as a rainbow.
