Easter 2017
From Sønderborg to Copenhagen to Malmö to Göteborg to Stockholm
Both of my roomates went home for Easter, so I decited to visit Stockholm by myself. I left on Wednesday right after work - first stop: Copenhagen. One of the benefits from the on-arrival traing is that you get to know people from all over the world who volunteer all over your hostcountry, so you always have a caoch to crash on when travelling around.
I stayed in Copenhagen for two days, one of them I spend with a girl from Estonia (we actually became such great friends in such a short period of time and are planning our trip to Barcelona together) and the other day I spend with another friend from England.
On Friday I wanted to visit Malmö for a few hours before going all the way to Stockholm, but because I didn't book in advance, almost all of the trains were fully booked and I only had 15 minutes to change trains in Malmö - definitely not enough time to do some sightseeing. (Nevermind, I'll come back for you, Malmö). I once again had to change trains in Göteborg, Swedens second largest city where I had 45 minutes to do so. In the train I looked up the main attractions of Göteborg and as soon as the train arrived at the station, I ran (I'm not kidding) as fast I could to see the most. In the evening, after five more hours of a trainride, I finally arrived in Stockholm. I was so tired I went straight to the hostel and to bed.
Fit again Saturday morning I joined a free walking tour of Stockholm with my Turkish-roomate. After that we split, and I went to see the changing of the guards at the Royal Palace, the Royal Palace itself and Gamla Stan - the old town. Also I got to see the museum of modern art and Skansen, worlds first open air museum. I also took the elevator up the highest tower in Stockholm, the TV tower, and enjoyed a beautiful view over the city. Long story short: I got to do a lot of sightseeing and got to see some really cool places and I did A LOT of walking. The next day, my feet were hurting so badly but that didn't stop me from doing more walking and sightseeing. At some point I felt like I did everything I wanted to do and more, so I decided to end my trip at the cinema watching Fast and Furious 8.
After 11 or so hours I arrived back in Sonderborg and that was the first time feeling like coming home.
