Three weeks of fun and challenges!

Hello everyone,

Sammy here, I haven’t written for a while due to me being so busy here in Blossin. I have been struggling a lot to pick up the language therefore I have been working with Team Haufe down at the Funsporthalle. While I have been down there I have learnt a lot and had so much fun.  I was down at theFunsporthalle for 3 weeks.

The first week I spent a lot of time watching, listening and taking notes. I enjoyed watching all the groups having fun and learning new styles and activities. This week I took many notes which then were able to go home and ask my flat mates to help me translate most things.  Some of the activities I could to watch and take notes were Teamkletten, Inlinekurs and some more.

The second week I worked alongside Chris with his group. This is was nice for me because I was with the same people all week. They knew my situation of learning German and all helped me throughout all the week. This week I lead one activity called Labyrinth. This was a simple activity for me in English however in German it is challenging but now I am I able to lead this activity, with a piece of paper as a reminder if I get stuck. By the end of the week I had connected with this group so well, even though my German language wasn’t so good, we all still had a lot of fun and made many funny memories.

The third week brought a lot more challenging moments for me. This week I was asked to lead a few more activities, this included Feuer-Wasser-Sturm, I started off with Bianca helping me and then throughout the week I was able to lead this on my own, this gave me a lot of confidence and I was really proud of myself. The second activity I lead was Memory with Teamkletten, this was a difficult activity for me as there was some very difficult words for me. However I still manage to explain this clearly. The Last section of an activity I led was to explain how the walkie-talkie worked. This was one of the most difficult parts of the three weeks for me, there were many words I hadn’t heard before and found this very difficult.  I still managed to work through the struggles and was able to cleary explain this with help.

Overall the time I have spent down at the Funsporthalle with Team Haufe has been the best time in Blossin yet as I have learnt many new things and had so much fun learning. I hope to work with them again soon.
