My motto when I came was"Be open to everything" but I have never expected this in my life.
I came here being open to the people and to new things but I didn't expect that the people here will be just as open for me. I never ever thought that I will have the best Sukkot in my life in a little German city with a Christian community.
So it all started on a foggy Monday morning: I was asked if i can speak about Sukkot and other Jewish holidays. Of course I said yes, but then I didn't know what I was getting myself into.
On the next Saturday the kindergarten had the adventure day of the month. It is a program for kids that used to go to the KITA and now go to preschool. The kids went to the forest in the morning. I skipped this part because I needed some sleep.
In the afternoon the work finally started. We prepared some food for the camp fire and for Ertedankefest on Sunday in the church with the kids. It was a rainy day but nothing could stop us. We build our tent. It was very professional. The base was made of real cordon fence. Then came the leaves. We left a big hole in the middle of the roof so we could watch stars in the night :)
Yes I'm not kidding: some of us decided to sleep in the tent in sprite of that it was like 6 degrees and pretty unstable weather :D There were 3 kids and 3 adults, brave or mindless
I'm not being emotional but I think it was the best tent I ever did. <3
