Road trip

Ingredients:

• 4 volunteers
• 1 infirm car
• 1 ferry card
• 1 jukebox
• Flyers
• Food

Preparation:

Put the volunteers around 9 o’clock in the morning in the car, tasked with distributing flyers all around their region. Let them play music out of a jukebox all day as compensation for the lack of a proper radio. Nevertheless advise them to drive cautious and make sure that they are not afraid of using ferries, it will be unavoidable as long as they don’t leave the west coast of Norway. Don’t forget to give them a ferry card or they will maybe try to drive over the fjord because they don’t want to spend their hard earned money (you never know). At some point let them recover from the exhausting trip and take a break to destroy their survival packages and buy new food. They might be hungry after some time. Afterwards the volunteers will be ready to make the roads unsafe again.

WARNING! Tell them where they definitely have to go like around Eid, Sandane, Måløy and Stryn or the will come up with crazy ideas such as driving to Bergen. It is easily prevented by not giving them a fuel card, so that they have to pay for new gas themselves ;)

Result:

Your flyers will be distributed in public buildings such as shopping centers all around. Moreover the present Norwegians will have reason to laugh while watching the four volunteers taking the escalator the wrong way. Goal achieved. On the other hand the volunteers will have one of the most funniest days during their EVS project and discover the region at the same time (amazing landscape despite continuous rain). Laughter and good mood is granted, either because of the missing sense of direction, the Norwegian roads, the more than interesting car or everything else that might happen. Have a try :D

Tip: It is recommended to use flyers for the coming school musical “Back to the 80’s”, to take Alisa, Artur, Barbara and Oleksandr as volunteers and a rusty green Toyota HiAce as car with a red JBL Xtreme on tour to make it the perfect day ;)
