Remember When
For You
Remember stunning Switzerland
We were still kids, eversince friends.
Before we washed them in the tub
Stole golf balls from the country club.
Remember the way to Zhytomyr?
Watermelons, L'vivske beer.
Carpathian heights,the soviet train
all memories still in my brain.
The painted trees in Chisinau
placinte, wine and that somehow
a love in our hearts would burn
and everybody would return
To Moldova and I still bet
that all of Europe there once met.
Remember all these nights in bars?
On parties drinking beer out jars?
Remember when the fall began?
The leaves would turn red, yellow, green.
Remember Cesis Latvia,
the magic woods we went by car
The castle ruins, history
of centuries that used to be
the landscape low in fog was wrapped
its beauty was in decades kept.
Remember when we made our way
through man high snow the other day
Slovakian caves, abandoned huts
the forest infinite, I got
that smell of burned wood in my nose
such as the freezing wind that blows.
Remember Greece and its blue sky
the sea so deep, the hills so high?
Pomegrenates, mandarines,
Souvlaki, Frappé, giant beans
Pattission, Exarcheia,
Thisseio, Tavros, Syntagma
Remember hiking Hymmetus?
Panting, sweating, swearing, 'cause
The way up rocky, hot and steep
But Athens laying at our feet.
So silent, peaceful from the far
From Piraeus to Kiffisia.
The ocean sparkling in the sun
I don't regret that I had gone.
Remember when in Collingwood
The highest hill we climbed and stood
Above the shore of Georgian Bay
So lovely, calm and if I may
Tell you that in Canada I've had my
Greatest time so far.
Remember when I sang my song
down at the beach of Wollongong.
Remember when we used to smile
While walking shores of Frankland isle.
In Sydney, yes we did amuse
had new year's eve, saw La Perouse.
Remember good ol' Byron bay?
Where we a night or two would stay?
To see the lighthouse in the dawn
Eventually rest till the morn'.
Breaking waves against the rocks,
good company and silly talks.
Remember going north again
Queensland, Highway, Sugar cane?
Remember all the times we had
when feeling lonesome, down and sad.
And when you face a mental war
remember that I am not far.
Keep going, that my word will be,
all roads will end up at the sea.
Remember where the love came from
The best is now but yet to come.
