Here we go again
24 days. 12 participants. 9 countries.
On the 21st of June a new adventure started for me. An ESC short-term project in Idrija, Slovenia. For around 3 weeks we are working in an international environment on the UNESCO cultural heritage of Idrija. More precisely, together with a local association called “ID20” we are focusing on an old mining house which will become a place for living and preserving the heritage of the old miners.
The difference to a long-term project is, that we are a group of 12 people. 9 different nationalities are working together on one project. And it works really well! Each participant brings such an interesting background with him or her which leads to a never-ending story of inspirations for life. To become such a team in only such a short period of time is special and shows what really matters. It's not about age or origin, we're all here because we want to learn and experience new things and have a good time together.
About Slovenia: Wow! What a country! I'm really impressed. Regarding the fact, that our association has its first ESC project, everything is more than well organised. Besides the organisation and its talent for the best program are the hospitality and kindness impressive. From a picnic on the national Independence Day, a visit of Ljubljana and surroundings to a hike on Porezen, a new adventure in Slovenia is waiting for us. Everday! I guess, that describes the intensity very good. Those three weeks feel a bit like being on a rollercoaster that only goes upwards.
