EVS, please be great! :)
Good times ahead.
During school, I took part in student exchanges with an American and a French school and also do language trips to England and Spain. Those abroad visits made me realize how much I enjoy becoming a part of another cultural and social environment, even if only for a short time. With each trip, I became more confident in adapting to the foreign country but also in showing my heritage and explaining it to others became more and more fun.
Sadly, those school trips were mostly very brief visits to the foreign country. That is why I knew by the end of my time in school, that joining the European Voluntary Service is something I really should do before studying. I am very interested in staying abroad for six months participating in this social project as this period of time allows me to establish closer ties to a country’s culture, language and, most importantly, its inhabitants. I hope that I will be able to bring joy to the people who may need it and show them that they are cared for. In return I hope to receive great experiences in terms of my personal and academic skills, which will have a positive impact on my future life and career.
I hope that the service in Denmark will help me to improve my skills in Youth Work and will be a good preparation for my studies, as I problably want to become a primary school teacher. I love working with children and youngsters, so I'm sure the fun won't go missing! :) Also, I have never been to Denmark and I am very keen on getting to know the Danish culture. I'm very happy that I will be joined on the journey by Alina, Lilli and Lea- I'm sure we'll spend a great time together! :)
