Amazing Europe

We live in one of the biggest community in the world but if we just think about how people in the past used to live without it, we will be able to understand the real essence and importance of Europe.
Before being a big comunity of several countries and people, which main purpose is to ensure peace and respect of human beings and rights,it's a big dream came true and it should not be taken for granted.We live in the same Europe dreamt for ages by ours fathers,created for people and by people.
The first project of an Union between countries took place after the First World War and from then Europe has been changing until the forms it takes now. Since the beginning it was an Union of several States and everyone of them had a strong individual culture, past and most of all borders. After the Second World War, the nations of Europe began to co-operate in the trade with the idea of a common market which, with the time, led to the idea of free movement of people ,goods and services,in one word to Schengen Agreement . It contributed to eliminate boundaries between European Nations and to give benefits to all countries which accepted this Agreement.Schengen enabled people to go beyond national borders of own home country.
Technically a border or boundary is a line (it could be also an imagined one) that divides one country from another and it's absourd and unbelievable that this line in the past, and unfortunately still in the present, has producted the worst, terrible and useless wars in the world, just think about what is actually happened between Israel and Palestine,but also in other part of the world and what happened in the past.
During the years this sense of limit has been overcome and European States could finally establish “Europe” as a place of peace without wars. But while this limit has been overcome other kind of limits have raised; I'm talking about interpersonal barriers. They are mental barriers that laid in the culture of a nation and it's really difficult to make these people change idea. So,the term ‘boundary’ now has a deeper meaning,it can divide a society. I'm thinking about what recently happened in Italy with the discrimination of our Minister For Gender Equality, she has been victim of racism because of the color of his skin or about a 14 years old boy who killed himself only because he was omosexual and no one wanted understand that however he was a human being, free to be who he wanted to be without judge.
Discrimination and prejudice outdistance the nations and people and represent the hardest barriers to break.We should open our minds to people coming from other part of the world too and not relegate them in a given country because only the freedom to move can give us the opportunity to create a united society and go beyond every kind of boundaries. We should accept that disabled people or people who have different sexual preferences or a different colour of skin remain people as us they are like us.
However, I think that the most part of European countries have overcome the limits of prejudice and discrimination, also because they are not the principles on which European Union was built. With this global crise the rising populism and nationalism and the birth of racist movements against immigrants are becomig stronger and stronger, and the idea of a solidariety and united Europe is in dangerous.
All of us are a part of Europe and we have to preserve the ideal of equality.One possibility that young Europeans have to eliminate these limits is to go abroad to create a real European borderless society. In this way we can meet other people,live and understand other culture,learn from the others,create an own point of view,be indipendent and have a personal growing. Going abroad make us responsable citizens, and I think that it's the only way to create a common mentality.
Different countries have different cultures and that is our main force, our richness. We should encourage European people to get in touch with all these diversity beause this is the only way to remove all kind of borders which separate us and to create a stronger and bigger European culture to unite us.
With the European projects we can achieve European integration. Thanks to one project that Europe had done during the years, together with many others,we can finally do it. I'm talking about Erasmus program.
I had the possibility to go to Sweden during the last winter and I really felt an European citizen, I don't know why because in reality I'm European but out of my country I had the real perception of what European Union is. I jumped into this new experience, into another culture and it was an amazed experience. Everyone I met was nice,kind and respectful. For every kind of problem I had a lot of people ready to help me and supporting me.The behavior of people supporting other people is the most important mean of breaking the borders. For example when I arrived in Stockholm for the first time I didn't know how to arrive at the university and when I asked where it was,I met a young German girl at the information point who was going there and so we went at the university together. This is an example that show how people can jump the borders, helping other people with different backgrounds, cultures, religions or nationalities.During the semester I felt like if I was living in a fairytale,but instead everything was true,I was in my Europe,our Europe. I had just jumped the boundary. And I jumped it again when I went to Germany in the amazing Munich. No word could explain what and how I felt there. I worked there for three months with smiling and enthusiastic people with a great sense of union and lived with two girls,one coming from Spain and the other from Denmark, sharing tha same flat. I met people from every part of Europe and the world. I was living in a big family and none boundary or frontier could split us up. I can say that I was at home .
I found a new myself that I could never imagine, I crossed all my personal borders, I can say that I have no boundaries anymore. Jumping the borders can change your life and yourself,I felt European because I breath European wind.The wind of change and the change must come from all of us. I feel different, I am changed,I am grown up,I have understood the importance to be different, to don't have limits and the richness of diversity. If we adapt to the place we go we can take all the opportunities and the benefits it give us,this is the secret to live Europe.

Thanks to these experiences ,now, I am interested in knowing the world, other people,other culture and other languages, I learnt a lot of things that now will belong to me for ever. I will bring them with me to my home land. I fell much more European. I probably learned more from all these people that I met then they learned from me.
I advise everyone to take the opportunity that European Union give us but to really live all the best of this experience you first need to live your fears behind,I am prepared now to go abroad again, maybe in an extra European country, because now I am finally ready to fly high over all kind of boundaries. Yes, I am European but Europe learnt me to be a citizen of the world before all, it's doesn't matter where we come from,we live in the same world and we want the same thing: peace
When I think of Europe I think of a big Union of people, minds,nations and cultures, mixed in a big continent and moving thanks to Schengen which allows european citizens to move freely among the countries.
We are born after Schengen Treaty so we feel in a different way the concept of borders and the sense of limit that comes from them and maybe sometimes we give them for granted but our relatives born before this Treaty can really understand the difference betweeen the past with borders and the present with no borders and the consequence lackness of limits.

Europe is like a big mother who try to avoid limits,prejudices and discriminination between it's sons and daughters.I want an Europe of tolerance, solidarity. that is not afraid to ospitare people from all other part of the world, because diversity is only a fortune, an Europe that give the same opportunity to everybody.Europe's main caracteristis is its variety of differences, which must be preserved and donated to the world. Europe is not a place for violence, intolerance and fear.I believe that country's borders are the easiest boarders to cross. Unit is our strenght and if we stay all together we can do great things to eliminate the diversities.The European integration and the globalisation make barriers and borders fall everyday as the History theached us,the Berlin Wall to make an example. But, without any doubt, media and politics can halp us to reduce these gap of intollerence, discrimination and borders. Also through Internet, and new technologies we reinforce our friendships that we made when we were abroad because they will help us to keep in touch with the whole world.But also music can united us as one population bcause it's an universal language.
At the beginning jumping a border can be very difficult just think about to speak a foreign languages, but every voyage made us stronger than before, rende consapevoli that we can overcome all the fears that we feel, and open to new possibilities and dimensions.
I like to remember an Einstain's quote “When a mind open to a new dimension it never goes back to the previous dimension”.
That's absolutely true.

Jumping the border and boundaries means don't have mental or physical limits and thanks to Europe there are neither boundaries nor borders (anymore) we belong to the same big state: Europe.We jump the borders to find a better life and a brighter future outside our countries.
The main opportunity Europe give us is to build our future,our life and to decide freely what way choose. How lucky we are, everyone of us is a part of it.
I think that if other countries in the world would adopted our European principles the world could be a better place, a place of freedom,peace and joy. We need Europe for this reason too.
Everyone of us should be grateful towards all the opportunity that Europe create for us.

Somethimes precarious situations can easily led us to our limits but we are the young europe and we must overcome every limit. I think that the only limit is the one we set ourselves. If you want limits don't exist, frontiers don't exist and nothng and no one could stop our future plains. So it doesn't matter if you are going to jump borders or boundaries, Just jump.
