About a week ago, a young Syrian man came to the Rotaract meeting in Passau to talk about the last one and a half years of his life. While he was talking, the room was absolutely silent. When he asked about the time, nobody bothered that he was talking already for more than an hour. After he finished, I asked him if I could write down his story and he agreed. In fact, he was happy. It is a chance to show the story that is hiding behind all those numbers of refugees, we are confronted with in the media everyday. We met again, when I was finished with the text to complete it together. The story of this young man is not only his story. It represents the lives of thousands of refugees who have to face those same obstacles.
