My second home
My experience as an Erasmus Student in Berlin
You maybe noticed that i just called Germany "my second home" , but it is actually what i feel towards this beautiful country .
Germany , a huge country with a very authentic history that foregrounds the identity and the cultural diversity of each state . This is what probably made me choose Germany for my Erasmus Mundus exchange programme in Berlin ,in 2015. I was pretty intrested in the history of the wall of Berlin and how such pieces of stones could separate one nation ,one family and one identity . I made my own research about the wall of Berlin ,but seeing the wall in reality was the last thing i could imagine would happen .
Yes i made it to Germany :indeed it happend , and i was the most blessed girl ever , you know that feeling when you reach a place or something that you once thought you would never make it . I 'm finally in Berlin , everything seemed different , beautiful and awkward . of course it's the first time i stepped into a new country , a new place .I was alone there , no friends , no family the only thing i had was my passion for discovery , knowledge, and inspiration.
Mindfulness experience :My Erasmus experience in Germany taught me a lot of things ,it opened my eyes to different perspectives and outstandingly shaped the person i am now .
I'm wholeheartedly thankful for Germany as well as for the European Comission for giving me the opportunity to step out of my country and embark onto a new place to learn , share and inspire.
Coming back home :In 2016 i went back to my home country " Algeria" after spending a wonderful year in Berlin , leaving behind mindfulness memories and great friends.
Germany here i'm again :and after almost 2 years and a half i'm back again to Germany as a volunteer , to give something back as a way to thank this amazing country and also to learn and make new friends.
Würzburg is now my new home for the upcoming months ........................
