Chasing the sun
- Happy me enjoying the sun -
I’m better / So much better now / I see the light, touch the light, / We’re together now / […] / You’ll find [me] chasing the sun / … These first lines of the song ‘Chasing the sun’ by The Wanted describe perfectly how I felt yesterday, when the sun made it over the top of the mountain for the first time in 2017. Luckily I live a bit up the hill and in the third floor, so that the sun could reach my room. In the valley it is still dark and it will take some more time till the sun gets that high to cover it in sunlight too. But I don’t care as long as I can see it again, even if it is not for long. That will change soon anyway – probably into more daylight than I wish we would have. I don’t know yet how I will cope with the midsummer nights, which are about to come, but right now I am just happy to have the sun back. Honestly, it sucks without.
So I took the opportunity on Saturday and went up the mountain to enjoy the good weather (not one cloud in the sky, which is a rarity) and landscape. I will never get enough of the Norwegian fjords, which are just beautiful. And covered in sunlight even more, which lasts longer in higher altitudes. I told you I was chasing the sun ;)
Besides the end of the darkness nothing special happened this week, except maybe for the fact that Barbara is living with Artur, Oleksandr and me now. She moved here on Tuesday because of issues with her landlady/flatmate. Now we are four people in our apartment, which has already been crowded before. But it is just a temporary solution till Astrid finds something else, even if it would be nice to have all volunteers together. In the meantime it is just going to be cozy… ;)
Ha det bra!
