A city of rich people, history and surroundings

When you think that you have seen everything and there is nothing else left to surprise you, but you have not visited Bonn then this is when your beliefs will be changed. Bonn was appreciated for more than 2,000 years firstly by Romans who found the city easily accessible through the Rhine river, they appreciated the mild climate and beautiful surroundings. Today I will walk you through words towards the history and the beautiful sites of the city. While I am writing this blog, I cannot stop wondering how many of you know which city served from 1945 to 1991 as the capital city of the Federal Republic of Germany?! Or have you ever wondered where your favorite gummy bears come from? The short answer is Bonn. If you visit the former capital, you can explore the HARIBO (short for Hans Riegel Bonn) factory on Bad Godesberg and stock on your favorite kind. 

Once you have been packed with HARIBO you may continue your journey to the Rheinaue, known for its green oasis, green fields, gardens, and a lake. You will be amazed by the beauty and the freshness of the place. You will also have a chance to visit a hidden Japanese garden that offers a picturesque lake with a small island, and as well as waterfalls. After you have discovered this gem, you may return slowly to the city center and visit the home of Germany's greatest composer Ludwig van Beethoven whose symphonies still enchant those who appreciate classical music. If you are visiting Bonn during April, then not far from Beethoven's home you will have the chance to walk the old part of the city that every spring, the Japanese cherry blossom trees bloom and they create pink and purple tunnels. Unfortunately, they do not last for too long. So hurry up, and be enchanted by the beauty of the trees so you can continue the fairytale by visiting one of Germany's oldest churches called Bonn Minster, which was constructed between the 11th and 13th centuries.

If you thought that this is all that Bonn has to offer, then you might think twice, as Bonn has many other things starting from its own palace. The Poppelsdorf Schloss was build between 1715 and 1749. A long canopy of chestnuts trees connects the Baroque palace which is the main campus of the University of Bonn. When you reach the Poppelsdorfer Allee you will be amazed by the most gorgeous green oasis you will find in the city called formally the Botanic Gardens of the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms Universitat. There you can meditate and wait for the day to end in the best possible way. You will feel at peace, filled with so much energy, knowledge, and positive thoughts. Bonn will offer everything that a city can offer, and will leave you wanting more...
