Where is your goal card?
It's real time to make our goal card and to let our desires be free. Don't you think? In this period we all probably think about our future. And quite often we are not really sure about our desires and dreams: what we exactly want to do and what our desires are, that we really want to achieve. I had this intentions in my mind before taking part to one Masterclass training "Business Mindset" organized by Stephanie Schuster who made me think about my goals and to make them clear for me. So I would like to share with you some principles, that can make a clear picture what we are going for.
To be clear let's to observe one example. So I studied journalism and I have some journalistic activities in our country. Before coming to Germany to have my volunteering year I thought that I exactly knew what I want to do. But as long as I am here I got to know many people, who brought with him/her new knowledge, skills and being in different position, by integrating in new environment ,my perspectives about my goals and desires somehow have changed, by stopping me ahead of unprecedented situations. But how can we make clear what we exactly want regardless of the positions, places or times we are at?
To have a clear picture on how we can achieve our goals, we need to understand what goals exactly we have. We may have several ideas, lots of desires in our mind, but at the same time we have doubts to make them possible. Something would be easier if we would have an exact goal and we would be sure in one point: I have goals and I will achieve them. So you believe what you want to do. For example if you have a business idea, that's your point to achieve you may also know the way how to do it. But if somebody like me doesn't even know what is his/her goal, this report will be interesting for him/her, at least it will give some specific steps to follow. But before starting to think about it please forgot about the intention: I don't know what will be in future, how can I be sure what I exactly want to do and how to get it. Of course I am not saying remove it from your mind or don't think about it, unlike it doesn't even possible but just think having less concentration on it. Here I would like to give the example of cap and elephant.
So all of us have one empty paper and pencil. Only we can decide what to draw on a paper, elephant or cap? It's speaking about our perspectives and abilities to observe several sides of the object and looking around the ways how can we achieve to that object.
So just imagine that you have that paper, pencil and you need to draw your goals and ways through what you will achieve it.
Let's to do some challenge by following the further steps and opinions.
As we know the starting point of all achievement is desire. Quite often I am skeptic about my dreams and desires by thinking: Yep! It's just dream, it's not going to happen. And then I force myself into not thinking about things that aren't realistic.( but it's not just fantasy as well).
And this point makes me lose my motivation what I want to do. Of course it depends on our perspectives: how are we seeing this or that thing, that can happen and generally on which conditions and circumstances it's going to happen. But I would say if we are thinking about the circumstances or conditions we can spoil everything.
You may say:Ok but why are you criticising yourself, just do whatever you would like to do. Yes you are right, but I would ask you to remember some situation or place you appeared and then after your opinions and perspectives completely have changed. Therefore your next intention could be: ok but we always can come to new places, new environments, and we are not really sure what we will do in different positions, and we are not sure what could change on our goal cards. Maybe something will change or we will have a new goal list on our card.
So what Stephanie Schuster suggests to do is this exercise mentioned in below.
1. Start dreaming again. Dream whatever you want without judging yourself.Just dream and write down all of your dreams by making a wish list. The more you go into details the better.
2. Ask yourself: How do I want to live? And then think about all areas:private, love live, profession, business, health, family.
After all of this, there might be coming questions or sentences like: Would be great but, this is not possible……
How should I do this……
Oh wow, but there is a long hard way for me….etc. But you can choose the goals by following your feelings. Where you would feel better.
So the intention of this part is to make you start dreaming again. And then after when you analyze all of these thoughts, you will pick up the desires from your wish list thus that you feel better in, and you will write down it on your goal card. Try and keep on doing.
I would say after this exercise I have now some pictures in my mind what I want to do and where I am going to reach by following my feelings. I am just trying to keep persistence, which is the half of the deal.
So you may ask: how do I need to keep the persistence if there is turmoil in my mind and everything can be changed rapidly?
So Stephanie Schuster has the key point on this. According to her Masterclass book( train your mind Being agile) persistence is a state of mind, this is the reason why it can be shaped. And the only thing, that we need to do is to increase our persistence step by step. How it's going?
At first, have your clear desire, then have a strong believe that you are able and willing to achieve it.
Create an organized plan.Even if the plan might be weak or looks impractical it can encourage persistence.
Do your homework and keep on learning and be open-minded.
Use your will power to stay focused on what you want to achieve
Create habits that helps you to achieve what you are going for.
So those are the steps, that can help you to make your goal card more visible for you and to achieve all that you want by increasing your persistence. So I just would like to add, that already 3 days I have internalized some habits, and I am still working on them. And what's about the overcome? I enjoy it. My routine became more productive and structured.
Just keep on doing and write down your suggestions in below, how to increase the persistence on the way that takes us to achieve our goals that we are going for.
