The one and only one

Ogre, Latvia. Zinibu iela 3. Tuesday 8:30 pm. It's already dark and cold outside. Whereas most people sitting in front of their TV after a long day of studying or working, an uncommon sport in Europe takes place in the sports hall of ogres vidusskola: the ogres Frisbee club has its training. 

1968 ultimate Frisbee was invented by American students and went virally all mostly in the English speaking world in recent years. Worldwide more than 5 million plays Ultimate Frisbee, 4, 9 million come from America and Canada.

The rules are quite simple. The aim of the game is to catch the disc in the end zone. It is just allowed to move on one foot during you holding the gaming advice in your hand. Moreover you need to pass it further in between ten seconds. Possession changes if the disc is hold longer than the allowed time, touch the ground, is caught by an enemy or a point is scored. An outside game is 7 against 7, an inside game 5 against 5. 

A disc is flying almost in slow motion through the air. Everybody's eyes are following the Frisbee’s way. Can somebody catch it? Gundega is running as fast as she can to reach and prevent it from touching the ground. She almost catches it, when suddenly Genadijs is rushing into her and is knocking her down. It was obviously a foul. Yet no referee steps in. The two teams are coming together and after a brief consultation they decided it was a foul. That is the most important principle of the Ultimate: The spirit of the game. 
It's all about respect and honest towards the enemy. In the official rule book are no punishments mentioned. Due to this Frisbee differs completely to other sports as soccer, rugby, handball or basketball. Also there are mixed teams, which is also a unique feature. 

As far as I can say it's not only theoretically. I have playing for five weeks and I have never ever felt so fearless since I had had my cruciate rapture surgery.
My team was created by combination of players of team "Outlawz" (open division team) and "Moments" (women division team), willing to play in mixed division in native and in some nearby international Ultimate tournaments. 
Ogres Frisbee Klubs was found in May of 2008. For now our team is one of the TOP 3  in mixed division in Latvia and has won several prices in Baltic and Latvian championships in recent years. Additionally,  almost half of the team is also debutants in the Latvian national team and play regularly in worldchampionships.
