Nun ist mein Freiwilligendienst vorbei. Das macht mich sehr traurig, aber wenigstens habe ich noch einen sehr schönen letzten Tag in Aarhus gehabt.

In diesem Blog beschreibe ich meine letzten Wochen in Estland.

I visited Weimar recently and it brought up some emotions, feelings and thoughts. I wanted to share them. Maybe they will be of help to some of you, about to go on your first seminar.

I finally found a word that describes and matches the feeling of curiosity, questioning, and fascination I have for people. Why I have never heard about it before?. Probably because I had to come to Greece to learn it and reflect on the amazing journey of meeting people around the world.

I spent the days from June 20 to 24 in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, a small village close to Bremen, where I was having my ESC midterm seminar.

After almost 12 months as a volunteer in Sweden it`s time to say goodbye to this place that I will always call my home. Let`s look back, reflect and give a little resume.

Doei doei. Het was echt super leuk en is jammer dat ik nu klaar ben met mijn project hier in Hamster Mieden. Ik ben ook blij en vind het spannend dat ik nu ga beginnen met studeren maar ben toch verdrietig.Dankjewel voor alles.

In times of global warming, the strong connection between LGBTIQ+ activism and environmental activism has come more into focus for activists working in the community. As a young LGBTIQ+ person, it is essential to think intersectional about activism at this time when climate change is affecting the lives of millions of people around the world. After all, LGBTIQ+ people, along with other marginalized people, are among the first to be confronted with the destruction caused by climate change.

When I was going to Germany for my voluntary year, my goal was quite simple - to live in a new country, to learn about its culture, to get an attractive supplement for my CV. But in 3 years after returning and rethinking this experience, I came to an incredible discovery - I can no longer stop being a volunteer. I asked my friends, ex-ESC volunteers, who are now helping Ukraine in its struggle for the right to be an independent European country, and it turned out that they could not stop being active as well. Why and in what it is shown? Right in this report.
