In light of the increase in wars and conflicts not far from Finland's borders as well as the country's choice to join NATO, I wanted to take a closer look at the mandatory Finnish conscription. To what extent is it an outdated concept - and how could it prove to be an effective and important necessity?

Conscription – Ukrainian perspective. If you are a young man between 18 and 27 years old, you have to go to army to fulfil your duty before your Motherland. Exceptions are possible, if you study, or have some health issues, or are the only bread-maker in a big family and some other specific cases. But what if you are just different? This article is my reflection on this topic.
