WOOFFing trough New Zealand
My WWOOF summary so far!
Ever since I arrived in NZ, I more and more like the idea of WWOOFing. The name is actually just the website it's running over. It's a kind of a social platform like for example Facebook only that it is for young chaps like me to find work. The work is basically voluntary - though you get a free place to sleep and mostly also good food too. It's very cool because you (obviously) work for lokal kiwis on there farms, orchards or around there household or garden for only 4-6 hours per day. So by doing that you also get to know the real kiwi live style.
You meet many intersting people and go to places you'd normally never see as a foreigner!
Anyway I'm now at my third wwoof host in NZ already. It's a macadamia nut orchyard and the family and another wwoofer im sharing the room with are just so nice. Just like the landscape the work (most of the time anyway) and of course the macadamia nuts which are so delicious! Expecially when you can just pinch some during the work :D I can drive a little tractor and sometimes I see even parrots during work. Just perfect!
